IV sedation: making dental visits easier for nervous patients.
If you’re feeling anxious about treatment, we’re here to help. At our Suffolk practice, we offer in-house IV sedation for a wide range of procedures to help you feel at ease. Before treatment, you’ll be invited in for a dedicated sedation consultation. This gives us the chance to talk you through the process, review your medical history, check your height and weight, and answer any questions you may have - all to ensure you feel safe, informed and confident in your care.
Whether you're visiting for a routine check-up, hygiene appointment or more complex treatment, our compassionate team is committed to your comfort. At Red Lodge Dental Surgery, your wellbeing is our priority. Discover a more relaxing dental experience with us.

Conscious sedation for a calmer dental experience.
Our experienced dentist specialises in treating patients with dental phobias, providing a comfortable and reassuring experience. We also offer intravenous (IV) sedation to help alleviate dental anxiety and make your visit as stress-free as possible.
What treatments can be done under sedation?
We can carry out a wide range of dental procedures under IV sedation, helping you feel at ease throughout your visit. These include:
- Tooth extractions, including wisdom teeth
- Oral surgery
- Fillings
- Hygiene appointments
- Crowns
- Dental implants
If you’re unsure whether your treatment is suitable for sedation, just ask, we’re here to guide you throughout your treatment.
How does IV sedation work?
We use mild sedative medication, administered through a small vein in your hand, to help you feel calm and relaxed throughout your treatment. At Red Lodge Dental Surgery, your safety is our priority; that’s why we use advanced digital monitoring to carefully track your blood pressure and oxygen levels at all times.

After your procedure
The calming effects of IV sedation wear off quite quickly, but you may not remember much of the treatment itself. This is perfectly normal, as the sedatives used can cause mild amnesia. You’ll need to stay with us a little longer after your procedure while we make sure you're feeling fully alert and ready to leave.
For your safety, you’ll need a responsible adult to accompany you home and stay with you for the next 24 hours.
IV sedation is available to patients aged 12 and over, provided they are medically fit. At Red Lodge Dental Surgery, you can rest assured your treatment is carried out with the highest standards of care, safety, and professionalism.
Real experiences. Trusted care.
We’re proud of the feedback from patients who value our calm, friendly approach - especially those who once feared visiting the dentist.
